A direct replacement upgrade for Fender Precision or Jazz style bass bridges. Installs in minutes and offers a "saddle housing lock" feature for added saddle stability.
Includes all necessary screws, instructions and adjustment wrench.
The 'Full Contact Hardware' system now offers "full contact" between the vibrating string and the body of the instrument. Babicz designed FCH with the intent of gaining the maximum amount of direct string coupling to the body of the instrument, with over 50 times more contact surface per saddle compared to conventional saddle designs.
With FCH, string height or "action" can now be set with more precision. The "eCam_ saddle allows for instant "action" adjustments without ever adding space or air gaps between the saddle and the body of the guitar, and conventional string height action adjustment set screws are eliminated. With the Babicz FCH design, the bridge saddle can never "sink" or "shift" while playing. Each FCH eCAM saddle also includes a specially designed _String Height Lock_ feature, which keeps your string height setting in place_even during extreme saddle vibrations over time. Precise intonation adjustments are also easily attained and in most cases include a _Saddle Housing Lock_ feature.

The problem with this bridge is that if you have a light touch while playing, want the string's action closer to the fret board, and don't hammer the strings, then this bridge is NOT for you. The ability to adjust the height of the strings is limited due to the assumption of the designers what they believe is an acceptable lower height range that a player would ever lower the string to. That assumption in this design doesn't work for me at all. I'm selling the bridge and trying the Hip Shot bridge ( http://www.bestbassgear.com/hipshot-kickass-bass-bridge.htm ) which is similar in design and way much less expensive.
If you like a higher action and really attack this strings, this bridge is great and is rock solid with great sustain.
Almost as good as a 2Tec and no routing

It will change your tone depending on the bridge its replacing. Ie it does seem darker than the factory Fender Bridges but that doesn't mean the Fender bridges should be a nuetral standard.
Intonation is tricky possibly because with the lock screw loosened to move the saddle back and forth, there seems to be an overtone that confuses the tuner.

I threw the old strings away and put on some new XL round wounds. I was able to adjust the string action very low. The Babicz is still my favorite bridge (besides the incredible sustain) because it is so easy to adjust.
I am going to have so much fun this weekend!!
A solid product.

It has contributed considerably to the great sound I get from my latest home crafted bass.Other bass players regularly approach me to inspect my instrument and ask how I get such an incredible depth &clarity of sound.
