DESCRIPTION

The "Classic Bass" Jazz bass pickups are highly respected by musicians and luthiers alike for their deep tone, strong lows, low mids tone.

They feature a dual in-line humcanceling coil design.

The "Classic Bass" series bass pickups are passive designs featuring an extended and more resonant frequency range. They have far more "air" and definition at the top without sacrificing lows and low mids. They are cast in epoxy to remove unwanted feedback and microphonics.

Please check the physical size of the pickups you want to replace to make sure the replacements fit properly.

Neck Pickup MTD H5
By Mike Yarborough from on 1/17/2014

I installed this pickup in the neck position of my '07 MTD Heir 5 and it was a perfect fit. With everything else stock, I now have the added low end punch I was looking for. I'm undecided now about whether or not I will bother with replacing bridge PUP. It sounds pretty good like it is.

Bartolini Neck Pickup

It does the trick! Installed on a Brubaker The brute 5 string. Almost gives you that perfect upright sound. I gave it 5 stars because it does what I need it to do. It sounds great.

9CBJD-L1 and 8S - Great!
By Ju from on 12/26/2013

I coupled the 9CBJD-L1 with a 8S and IMHO it makes a great PJ set.
The 9CB sound more opened than the 9J to me and I like a lot. The 9CBJD1
is clear but not too bright, fat just what I need. So I can play funky stuff
with it alone, that's what I was looking for. It is deadly quiet.

Set with the 8S the bass (P-Bass like) has great bottom and just the great
amount of punch. Great for Soul/Funk/Motown but maybe not enough
aggressive for hard rock and metal.

Sounds Great
By Jon McKinney from on 12/26/2013

My Godin Freeway5 had a noisy Jbass bridge pickup. This "split" Bartolini pickup solved my hum problem. My personal preference is to blend the pickups with a bit more of my Pbass neck pickup, however this bridge pickup sounds great on its own. Its output is sweet and substantial, however it is not as powerful as my neck positioned J bass pickup (which is ironically located farther away from the strings). This pickup adds an element of sharpness to the sound of my attack.
