I hate these strings!

I used to buy half-rounds back in the 80s. I bought these D'Addarios recently and put them on right before a gig. As soon as we started playing, I said, "What is wrong with my equipment?"

The tone was dark and without focus; I had to work around the listless attack with EQ, right hand finger placement and volume. Nothing worked. The next day on my low-volume church gig, it was even weirder. And I bought 2 sets. (Groan.)

I need to find another half-rounds maker or just go back to my go-to DR round wounds.
