DESCRIPTION

DELANO SBC series bass pickups are dual coil highend electric bass humbuckers in the classic bass soapbar shapes, available for four, five, and six string basses.

They represent the leading edge in dedicated bass transducer technology. Unbelievably full and open sound throughout the entire spectrum with tight bottom, airy midrange and heavenly harmonics unrivalled by ANY other bass pickup. Finally your bass CAN sound like it should.

Available as individual units or in perfectly matched pairs.

The DELANO SBC HE/S was developed to overcome many of the obstacles normally associated with most of the proven dual coil bass humbucking designs.

We killed the nasal muddiness, broadened the spectrum and enhanced even order harmonics. How we did it? We simply listened. Because we love to listen. To the music, the players, into the hearts of the instruments. Listen to catch every subtle detail. Hear what is there. Understand what is missing. Think we found it. It is the air. So we put it inside.

Finally there is a bass pickup that perfectly blends the fullbodied warmth of a humbucker and the airy openness of the best vintage single coils with crystal clear top end definition into pure luxurious bass tone.

Bass Player

I didn't think I would ever use my Ibanez bass. I loved the feel of the bass but the sound and controls were poor. After installing this Delano pickup (with Max's help); the bass is amazing. It's the first 5 string bass I feel comfortable and at home playing. Thanks BBG!

Great Schecter EMG40 Replacement
By Wayne from on 8/4/2016

Replaced the EMG40HZ pickups in my Schecter Elite 5 with these amazing pickups. There EMGs were ok, and I guess that's the problem. We all want to do better than just "ok". For me, personally, these Delanos really did the trick. Within the scope of a modern, defined bass tone, they are amazing. Punchy, good bottom end. top end is there too. With a little judicious use of the preamp, any string noise you might pickup with the higher freq. are gone. Also, BEEFY bass tone. NO mud. None. I originally wired these up with 3-way switches for Series/Parallel/Single Coil, thinking this would be nice and versatile. I quickly abandoned this. For me, parallel is the best way to let these reach their full potential. The seres/single coil just sounded weak. Thank goodness I didn't drill my bass and put the switches in permanently!

Even with the stock EMG 2-band premp, there is an amazing array of useful tones. FWIW I have an East U Retro Preamp on order and am sure it will be even better with mid-sweep control. Even with the EMG preamp, with the right treble adjustment, I can practically get a fretless tone out of the higher strings, which are Dunlop flatwound by the way...

If you are considering thesepickups, do a youtube search by manufacturer/model and you will likely find some results from Public Peace. Videos are very well done and give as good an example as you will probably find on the internet of how these will sound in your bass. - Watch the descriptions for what preamp they are using. One of the models I looked at featured an East Preamp, hence putting one on order. Ok is good, but better is well, better!

Best bass pickup I've used. So punchy and cuts through the mix. Took my productions to another level.
