To most of the world Esperanza Spalding is known only as the person responsible for keeping Justin Bieber from winning the 2011 Best New Artist Grammy. And make no doubt about it, for that alone she deserves our respect.

But as an accomplished jazz bassist Spalding has released three solo albums blending jazz, pop, and hip-hop; performed at a Noble Peace Prize ceremony, the Oscars, and at the White House; and worked with the likes of Alicia Keys, Patti LaBelle, and M. Ward.

Following up her critically acclaimed “Chamber Music Society”, today Spalding is releasing her fourth solo album, “Radio Music Society.” It includes her single “Black Gold” as well as covers of Stevie Wonder’s “I Can’t Help It” and Wayne Shorter’s “Endangered Species.”
