The Right Way To Do A Demo At NAMM

It can be arguably said that at NAMM, demos that really shine above the rest are performed by people who know their instruments backwards and forwards who can play with any gear in any situation – including a seriously crowded hall where almost nobody can be heard over each other.

This is such an example.

Doug Wimbish did a product demo from Pigtronix pedals, and, well, he totally nailed it.

The best part of the demo was what didn’t happen.

Some presenters talk. And talk. And talk. And talk… when all you want is to hear what’s being demoed. The way Pigtronix did this demo was as good as it gets. A quick intro, no b.s., and you hear it all – fast.

That’s how it’s done right.

  1. You consider this the right way to do a demo? How about a little more “Average Joe The Bass Player” licks to demo the effects and then turn Mr. Wimbish loose to demonstrate the pedals as they relate to his technique. This video is about HIM! Not the EFFECTS! That’s 11:16 of my life that’s gone forever…
