The feature bass instrument for this week is a Stambaugh Designs bass in an Alembic-inspired design, requested to be built as such by the owner of the instrument.
Owner J. Gold writes:
I was always in awe of John Paul Jones Triple Omega bass, and knew I wanted one that emulated its style. I had Chris build me one bass exactly to my specs at a very reasonable price point. I was so impressed with the build quality, feel, and sound, that I decided that I’d ask Chris to build my Omega. I refined the body and headstock, spec’d the woods, hardware, electronics, and most importantly, the tiger fretboard inlay. My first son was born in the year of the tiger, and I have a tiger tattoo for him, so I decided to put this tiger on the bass for him as well. He’s 5, and already a bass player, so he’ll get this bass one day.
Well done!

That was just what I needed!
the Bass is a piece of art, why waste it on Cars covers? should be playing some vintage prog on that beauty!
Being the owner of two Alembic basses, I can’t help being impressed with the obvious build quality and beautiful appearance of this instrument..Well done!
Battery cavity under bridge ? Possibly interesting idea to get more and more complex vibrations.
