DESCRIPTION

The MMCS is a direct replacement for the Music Man large profile bass pickup.

This humbucking pickup has wide bobbins combined with a large coil surface area that gives the MMCS an incredibly rich bass tone. Utilizing EMG’s popular ceramic and steel (CS) design, the MMCS is a great mixture of transparent high end with a powerful and warm low-end. EMG's active preamp makes this pickup rich with harmonics and whisper quiet.

This is a great alternative to the stock Music Man pickup and it comes with EMG's solderless wiring and pots.

Package Includes

  • EMG's exclusive Quik-Connect™ cable
  • Prewired solid shaft volume/tone control set
  • Output jack
  • Battery clip set
  • Adjustment screws

MMCS – “ 4 String ” Size

  • Maximum Recommended String Width: 63.5mm (2.50")

MM5CS – “ 5 String ” Size

Please Note:EMG supplies chrome screws with their pickups. If you require black or gold screws, we carry them on our pickup screws page.

EMG MMCS pickup review

The overall ease of installation is the high point of this product it takes literally minutes to install so A+ in that aspect. However, it is defiantly not the best sounding pick up it is a little bright and clanky (fork on plate) for my taste. I defiantly prefer the Aguilar that I had installed previously. I had replaced due to a short (cutting in and out) and I wanted to try the solderless approach. But I will most likely switch back to Aguilar due to tone quality.
