Big Split 5 Bridge - Bartolini P2

These are the split coil version of the Big Single.

They are very close to the Big Single tonally with a full rich palette. They use the same magnet layout as the Big Single, and the resultantly big coil is about as much single coil pickup that can be packaged in a soap-bar cover.

This is the ultimate pickup for the Jazz Bass®-on-steroids tone purist!

Standard spacing is 19mm at the bridge (not over the pickup.) (In most instances, this pickup will work if your 5-string bass has 18mm or 19mm spacing at the bridge) 

The distance from the center point between each pair of poles from each set of two poles to the next is 18mm for the bridge pickup and 17.5 mm for the neck pickup. This is a more useful distance to measure than the spacing at the bridge and should be done before ordering if you already have the bass available to you to take the measurement, Otherwise, going by the string spacing at the bridge is just a best guess, an educated guess that is correct most of the time, but still a guess just the same.

Depending on factors such as; The distance the pickups are installed in the body of your bass from the bridge, as well as the string spacing of the string nut, at the headstock end of the neck, which will determine to what degree the strings taper from their widest point at the bridge to their most narrow point at the nut, the poles of any pickup will likely not line up 100% perfectly (over the centers of the poles) with the strings (except for the A-string, which is generally dead center on almost all 5-string basses.)  This is okay, as long as the strings are over some part of the set of two poles. The width of each set of two poles is 9mm, so there is plenty of wiggle room for string alignment without adversely affecting the sonic performance of the pickup.
