Quality upgrade to Fender-style bridge
By Sam Fiorenza from on 6/1/2016
I have used the Babicz Full Contact bridges on who other Fender-style basses in the past when upgrading lower-end bass guitars that I own (A Squier VM Jaguar bass and a Squier VM 70's Jazz Bass), and both of those upgrades were very smooth and easy to install. After following Best Bass Gear's recommendation, I opted for the Omega bridge so that I could try a Badass-II style bridge upgrade. The bridge is hefty but not overtly weighty--substantial in the right way, and it should be a easy drop in replacement for the stock bridge that came with my Xaviere PB Fender P-bass copy that I bought last year to modify and upgrade for a knock-around spare bass. I haven't installed it yet, but will soon once my tech is free to cut saddles (I plan to put Labella Deep Talking flatwounds on this P-Bass); that is the only drawback that I can see to this bridge. If you have the proper tools and know-how, no problem, but the fact that this bridge comes without any notches on the saddles is a drawback for me. Even so, the gold plating looks great, the bridge feels solid, and after watching several YouTube videos/demos of Omega bridges that have been used to upgrade basses, I feel confident this purchase will be worth it.
