Jazz Bass 4-String Configuration

Linear humbucking pickup set for Jazz bass adds punch and articulation missing from standard Jazz bass pickups while minimizing noise.

The Apollo Jazz Bass pickup set has a traditional look, but the punchy and detailed tone it delivers is unique to Seymour Duncan. The linear humbucking design uses two coils next to each other under the cover. The way the coils are wired gives this pickup an edge and body that can be missing from traditional single coil Jazz bass pickups, free from the noise of traditional pickups.

Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, Apollo Jazz Bass pickups use hand ground alnico 5 rod magnets, Forbon flatwork, and are vacuum wax potted for squeal free performance.

Jazz Bass 67/70 Configuration

Linear humbucking bridge pickup for 5-string 'Jazz V' bass adds punch and articulation missing from standard Jazz bass pickups while minimizing noise.

The Apollo 5-string Jazz Bass bridge pickup incorporates two side-by-side coils hidden under the traditional-looking cover. This gives you a bolder, clearer tone without the noise associated with traditional Jazz Bass pickups. This pickup uses the cover size of traditional 5-string Jazz Basses. If you have an older 5-string Jazz Bass, use the 74 model for the proper fit. Comes with black cover.

Jazz Bass 70/74 Configuration

Linear humbucking pickup set for traditional 5-string Jazz bass adds punch and articulation missing from standard Jazz bass pickups.

The Apollo 5-string Jazz Bass pickups have a traditional look, but the punchy and articulate tone they deliver is definitely unique to Seymour Duncan. These pickups use a linear humbucking design where two coils sit next to each other under the cover to cancel hum, while the voicing of the coils gives you fatter lows and crisper highs, right down to the low B string. This pickup set uses the cover size of traditional Fender 5-string Jazz basses. If you have one of the modern ‘Jazz V’ models, use the 67/70 model for the proper fit. Comes with black cover.

Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, Apollo Jazz Bass pickups use hand ground alnico 5 rod magnets and are vacuum wax potted for squeal free performance.

Excellent Exchange

These pickups fit excellently when installed.Extremely solid, clear sound. They do not sound harsh to me at all. With a ton of different lighting situations going on in the theatre where I work, the Apollo Jazz pickups are very quiet. With the right bass and setup you can achieve an excellent powerful tone!

This pickup replaced a stock Noiseless pickup that died in my MIM Jazz Deluxe V. Installation was super easy -- screws and foam were included in the packaging. There is a separate braided lead for grounding the pole pieces (which I simply paired with the black pickup ground lead). This ensures that there is no pop/click when you touch the poles with your fingers (the stock pickup did not have these and had constant noise problems).

The tone is huge -- it'll do the P-bass thing quite well when soloed and blends beautifully with my matching Apollo bridge pickup. It is also DEAD QUIET in every situation, solo or blended. No pop, no click, no 60-cycle, no RF. I have yet to play a bar/club gig with it, but I'm certain its noise-free status would hold true in any situation.

I highly recommend this pickup if you need a good replacement for A Fender MIM Deluxe V or American Standard V Jazz bass.
