SJB-1 Vintage Single Coil Configuration

This pickup gives you the traditional sound of a vintage pickup for Jazz Bass™. The single coil construction brings out the warmth and fullness of the instrument while maintaining clarity and definition. The neck version is reverse wound/reverse polarity (RW/RP) to create a humbucking effect when used together with the bridge model. The bridge model is specially calibrated for the bridge position where there is less string excursion. Pickup cover included.

Classic early Jazz Bass sound and look. Single Coil.

Dimensions

    Neck Pickup

  • Length = 3.602"(91.5mm) Width = 0.718"(18.2mm)
  • Bridge Pickup

SJB-2 Hot Single Coil Configuration

This pickup delivers more output and punch than the SJB-1. You get a deeper low-end response than stock pickups. Like all Basslines ™ pickups, the SJB-2b is wax potted to reduce microphonics and feedback.

I put this pickup in the bridge position of a Squier Special 5. That bass comes with 4-string pickups, but it's a 5-string bass. The Duncan sounds good, B-string is clear and audible (now), and overall the pickup is a really good compliment to the Nordstrand NP-5 I put in the neck position. The pickup is a stacked design, so you have the options for series or parallel connection; I chose series, but it's still quite bright. Recommended.

The Duncan SJB-3b Quarter Pound Jazz Bridge pickup works great with the Quarter Pound P pickup. They are both installed on a bass I put together---passive "old school" with a swamp ash body. It sits great in the mix. Both pickups are great all around performers!

Bought the SD Bridge and Neck pickups and what an upgrade from stock!
Full fat sound, beautifully refined deep bass tones right through the mids and at the top notes. With these on my Fender Jazz Bass It has lifted the instrument to another class. Simply cannot believe how bad the stock pickups were, and now even the tone controls seem to have better balance.
Awesome!

P/J QP setup

A good overall pup - good output, balanced response, but I don't get a good sense of character with the preamp I have it wired through, a Bartolini 4.5 AP and as such I don't feel that I can provide a great review. I get the sense that these would really growl in a passive setup, but I can't recommend including them in a A/P setup.

Very pleased with SD. I have this paired with a vintage P and the sound is very nice. Both are running through a bartolini 3 band pre and are quite excellant sounding. nice suprise :)
