DESCRIPTION

Zero Mod Music Man Stingray Bass Thumb Rest

This thumb rest is made out of high quality dead clear polycarbonate or solid black acrylic, and precision CNC made in a machine shop here in the USA. The position and design mean NO NEW HOLES in your bass! Includes two pick guard screws which are slightly longer than the stock Music Man screws, so you do not even change the screw holes by adding this on.

This model should fit most Ernie Ball Music Man 4 string basses and Sterling by Music Man SUB Ray4 basses. Please see the picture above with the guard outline measurements to verify your pickguard screw pattern and spacing will allow the Zero-Mod SR1 to fit.

Your guard must have the two holes in the same locations as the guard in the picture, with a screw center to center distance of 70mm apart. It WILL NOT FIT any other pattern.

Please Note:
This model DOES fit the Ernie Ball Music Man Classic Stingray 5 string with the oval style guard - Please check the sizing picture to confirm your fit.
This model DOES NOT fit the American EBMM "SUB" or "Sterling" -- models for those basses will be coming out soon.
This model DOES NOT fit the Ernie Ball Music Man "Short Scale StingRay Bass" or the Sterling by Music Man "RAY Short Scale StingRay 4 -- models for those basses will be coming out soon..

Works like a champ!
By Jim

Just bought the Sterling by Music Man Classic Ray25CA and was missing having an anchor for my thumb as I am used to having multiple resting points from playing Fender instruments. I received it just in time for a gig and it installed in minutes with "no mods" to my bass. Highly satisfied - just check the specs with your instrument and you will be good to go!

Indispensable!

I've been playing some heavier music lately and in experimenting with heavier fingerstyle techniques, I found my fingers would get fatigued when resting my fingers between the pickup screws. In studying fingerstyle metal players, it seemed that many plucked closer to the neck, so I looked into some thumb rest solutions. I found this Zero-Mod number and haven't looked back. It has totally improved my comfortability as a player. The only drawback is that with my slapping technique the thumb rest can sometimes get in the way, but I don't get much opportunity to slap in any case. Overall, a lovely addition to my instrument.

Dont be pickin without it

Installed this on my Sterling Sub Bass.
The first step was to measure the 70 mm distance. It was right on and I ordered.
The thumb rest came with a couple extra screws just in case- a nice touch.
Really- it took a total of five minutes and it was on and done.
The ledge is a perfect balance of something you can really feel, and something smooth to the touch. Great product design and very thoughtfully executed.
The sense of stability with the thumb just sort of sets the fingers in motion to do their thing.
Thanks for a great thumb rest!

Expensive but probably the best option available.

Like I said, too expensive but worth it if you don't want to drill holes in your guitar, which I have no desire to do. Very functional and gives you a long range of positions for the thumb.

Zero Mod on Sterling Stingray
By photoguy

This little "shelf" does the trick for basses that lack a mid-body pick-up to rest the thumb on. Went on in a minute. Looks sharp. Easy!
