This week’s BotW is a multi-scale 7-string beast with a nice blend of exotic woods.
Builder Rick Link writes:
This is a custom build for Reggie Grayson. The bass is a multi scale/fanned fret 7 string tuned F#/B/E/A/D/G/C. The scale lengths are 37″-34″. The fretboard is cocobolo with a very nice mix of heart and sap woods. 26 EVO gold frets. The body is a laminate of padouk, red oak, wenge, and redwood burl. It has a cats-eye consisting of purpleheart, maple veneer, and wenge. The neck is 7 piece flame maple/padouk/purpleheart and is a neck thru the body. The headstock is maple burl veneer, walnut, cherry. The tuners are Hipshot Ultra Lights. The preamp is an 18 volt Audere with a Z mode switch and the pickups are custom wound humbuckers from Instrumental Pickups.
A fine piece of work, Rick! Well done!

Nicely done…I think I’ll stick with 4 strings, I have yet to master.
Beautiful job, but man, you would need hands the size of bigfoot’s to play it.
Nah, lots of two handed tapping. 😉
