The feature bass this week is from request for a “deep body semi-hollow” bass, and the builder certainly delivered!<\/p>\n

Builder Stephan Mongeon from Stellart Guitars<\/a> writes:<\/p>\n

This Bass has been custom-built for my most loyal customer Pascal Forget. It all started from the rest of a Neck Blank that was originally built for Athena, a five string fretted bass that can be seen on my Facebook page. Pascal wanted a deep body semi-hollow instrument and the rest of the neck blank was not thick enough to accommodate the thick body, so we decided to laminate extra wood longitudinally to the neck through to have the good thickness.<\/p>\n

The esthetic design of the instrument was conceived by my wife Ella.<\/p>\n

The specifications are:<\/p>\n

Semi-Hollow 6 string fretless bass<\/p>\n

Body wood: Multi laminated Maple\/Padaouk\/Purple heart with book matched Cocobolo Back and a one-piece Claro Walnut top.<\/p>\n

Neck Through: Multi laminated Purple heart\/Black Gabon Ebony\/Padaouk\/Maple<\/p>\n

Snakewood Fretboard with Black Gabon Ebony binding and mother of pearl side and top dots.<\/p>\n

Snakewood headstock top veneer with Maple\/Padaouk\/Maple laminated under.<\/p>\n

Hand Crafted Black Gabon Ebony Bridge with saddle slots oriented along the string direction. Black Ebony saddles with “Richard McClish (RMC)” piezo.<\/p>\n

The pickup is a “Delano Xtender<\/a> 6″ with a 3 band “F Bass” EQ and Volume control.<\/p>\n

Piezo has Volume and Tone control.<\/p>\n

Dual Jack Output:<\/p>\n

Output 1: Mag\/Both\/Piezo
\nOutput 2: Mag Only<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
