This week’s selection is from David. Why a 12 string? “Because it had to be done” Here’s what he says:<\/strong><\/p>\n

This bass is the 4th fanned fretted bass I have made, I have made 3 conventional 12 string basses, being series 1. Why a fanned fretted 12 string bass?\u00a0 I wanted to take the huge sound these iconic basses make to a new place and it has. I use African Mahogany for the bodies, this bass pictured has a Sycamore maple neck, with an Australian Rose wood finger board. Pickups are 5 inch Seymour Duncan Soap bars electronics are CTS\u00a0 on a passive circuit .\u00a0The bridges are made by me and are brass with stainless steel hardware as are the brass nuts, machine heads are Gotch.\u00a0This bass is a new build. The 12 string basses have been around since the 70s as we all know.\u00a0 I’ve owned a Hammer for a decade or so. My series 1 are three conventional 12 string basses. I decided to take it to a new place by using multi scale.\u00a0 Why? because it had to be done! the bass pictured is the 4th build of series 2.\u00a0 Without going into the details of the engineering of the instrument, it work’s beautifully, deep bass at 34.5 inch, guitar highs at 32 inch.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
