They can be \u00a0a neat little novelty, but you could drive a fleet of 18-wheelers in the divide between playing a real live instrument and goofing around on an iPad.<\/p>\n<p>That said, it&#8217;s can still be a lot of fun and a great for when you&#8217;re killing time.<\/p>\n<p>iFretless Bass is another interesting take on the idea. Designed for the iPad and iPhone, iFretless gets around the difficulty of trying to simulate a full bass guitar neck on the screen by allowing that range with it&#8217;s 9-string approach. This means you&#8217;ve still got access to 81 notes over 3 octaves, without any difficult scrolling.<\/p>\n<p>In this video iFretless is being used as a MIDI controller, connecting to the SampleTank synthesizer app running in the background.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OkVwtmq71bY\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s face it, you probably won&#8217;t be using this on your next gig or in the studio, but it does look like an interesting little app.<\/p>\n<p>You can buy the app from Blue Mangoo for $4.99 in iTunes store.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>What do you think?
