This happened to be an Ibanez, but could work equally well with a Squier or an SX, etc.<\/p>\n<p>You never really know how good or bad a cheap bass is in the playability department until you try the bass.&nbsp;One of the things about cheap basses is they are kind of inconsistent. One will play great and the next not so good.<\/p>\n<p>If your plan is to upgrade a cheap bass with good electronics I would suggest trying out as many as you can find until one of them feels and plays the way you want, then the upgrade will be worthwhile. If it doesn&#8217;t play the way you want then pass on it and find one that plays descent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Do you have a question for one of our Best Bass Gear techs?
