{"id":3552,"date":"2013-03-21T12:00:35","date_gmt":"2013-03-21T17:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bestbassgear.com\/ebass\/?p=3552"},"modified":"2013-03-21T09:01:59","modified_gmt":"2013-03-21T14:01:59","slug":"easy-fender-bass-upgrade-jenz-precision-bass-machine-heads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bestbassgear.com\/ebass\/gear\/hardware\/easy-fender-bass-upgrade-jenz-precision-bass-machine-heads.html","title":{"rendered":"Easy Fender Bass Upgrade: Jenz Precision Bass Machine Heads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I caught <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guitarworld.com\/review-jenz-precision-bass-machine-heads\">this article<\/a> over at <em>Guitar World<\/em> about the Jenz replacement tuners for Fender Bass guitars.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes a product comes along that totally makes sense, and the Jenz Precision Bass Machine Heads is one of them.<\/p>\n<p>Any product that is direct drop-in is good, and the Jenz tuners is one of them because they mount the exact same way standard Fender issue tuners do, meaning no drilling or filling required.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Jenz tuners can in fact eliminate the string guide (a.k.a. string tree) because of the lower downward angle of the string when using them, and the tuner provides tighter turns for less string clutter.<\/p>\n<p>The Jenz tuners are a solid upgrade all-around &#8211; but there&#8217;s only one drawback that for some is rather important, that being they look a bit plain on top.<\/p>\n<p>This is an image courtesy of that article (all credit goes to GW for it):<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"JENZ2\" border=\"0\" alt=\"JENZ2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bestbassgear.com\/ebass\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/JENZ2.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\"><\/p>\n<p>As you can immediately see, the tops of the posts are decidedly different looking because they&#8217;re closed and not open. <\/p>\n<p>Some of you may have no issue with this, but for others, the immediate thought may be, &#8220;Eww!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If you can get past the closed-top look, Jenz tuners appear to be a good upgrade &#8211; especially for those of you out there with Mexican-made Fender P&#8217;s and J&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>Check out more about Jenz tuners <a href=\"https:\/\/noahjames.com\/jenz1\/HOME.html\">here<\/a>, and <b>please let us know what you think of them<\/b> (even if you don&#8217;t own a set).
