Either you use a manual bass wah pedal that you rock back and forth with your foot, or you use an envelope filter pedal. <\/p>\n<p>At first glance, the pedal could be considered &#8220;auto-wah&#8221; (and this is said in the video above), but that really doesn&#8217;t adequately cover what the pedal does. <\/p>\n<p>One of the envelope filter&#8217;s greatest strengths, particularly with slap bass playing, is that the filter &#8220;pops&#8221; properly, and that&#8217;s something you simply cannot get with a manual wah pedal even with the fastest of feet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is the envelope filter pedal the ultimate in funk tone?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Well, to say it&#8217;s the &#8216;ultimate&#8217; is admittedly a bit of a stretch, especially being there are super-funky bass players who can funk it out with zero effects &#8211; <em>but<\/em> &#8211; the M82 is genuinely a fun pedal to have.
