This bass that I dubbed “The Bastard” is a Telecaster\/Jazz bass hybrid body shape that I designed. I wanted this bass to look very “Fender” but I also wanted it to be something that Fender has never done before. The finish is a holographic gold flake, on a black base coat.The finish reflects about four different colors depending on which way the light hits it. It is absolutely amazing in direct sun light. The bass took about 20 or so working hours to complete. spread out over the period of about two months. <\/p>\n

This is actually the second build I have done with this body design. I was looking through the Talkbass classified adds, like I do every day when I came across someone selling a set of T-40 pickups, so I bought them immediately. As soon as I saw them I knew they would be a perfect fit for what I was then calling my Tele-Jazz body style. <\/p>\n

This bass is by far the hottest, most rocking sounding bass I own. Its got a really fat, snarly tone that just screams Rock n Roll.

Maple neck with rosewood fretboard. <\/p>\n

Peavey T-40 pickups wired as humbuckers. (I may install a push\/pull pot to toggle single coil mode) <\/p>\n

Gotoh 201 bridge <\/p>\n
