Here is a bass that I built over the cold winter months in my small basement shop.  I wanted something that was light yet well balanced, felt great in my hands, and had tone for days.  It is a neck-through design made from wood that I have had sitting around for a few years.  The body is primarily curly maple with some mahogany and maple veneer pinstripes; the center is cherry with walnut on either side.  The headstock overlay is redwood burl veneer and the truss rod cover is a rosewood and maple veneer sandwich.  I used a satin finish to preserve the natural look of the wood and maintain a smooth feel to the back of the neck.  Here is a breakdown of the hardware…<\/p>\n
