The name of the person who sent us this to the featureme@bestbassgear.com<\/a> inbox identified himself as “wellREDman” (which if separated out spells as “well red man”), who shows that even with almost zero budget to work with<\/b>, you can still build something cool. <\/p>\n

I work as a care worker in a special needs unit for kids on the Autistic spectrum, one of the things I do is run after school clubs along the lines of “School of Rock”. When I am coaching rock’n’roll I find that I am forever swapping between bass and guitar i.e. demonstrate the bass line, then play the guitar part to accompany them while they practise, and vice versa. <\/p>\n

The obvious solution is a twin neck guitar\/bass, but as I make minimum wage and the school is charity funded there is no budget for that kind of indulgence. <\/p>\n

So what you see is my very first attempt at luthiery, I had a Precision copy that had been donated and bought, a cheap Telecaster copy from eBay, and cut and glued them together, I had to make the scratchplate from a blank and remodel the headstock of the bass to match the guitar. The whole thing came in at under \u00a3160.00.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
