This nameless BotW that came in to the featureme@bestbassgear.com<\/a> inbox we called “sunboard” because of the little sun-like inlays on the fingerboard that you’ll see in a few of the photos below.<\/p>\n

I build my basses in my garage at home in Robin Hoods Bay North Yorkshire. I might make about six a year when time allows , the rest of the time playing piano, double bass and of course electric bass.<\/p>\n

It is more of a paying hobby that gives me a great sense of satisfaction.
This bass was a commission from a local doctor and the timbers used are, maple , black American walnut and zebrano . The headstock is veneered with birds eye maple. <\/p>\n

The bass has a through neck and a simple passive tone and volume control. I use a brass nut that I make myself to increase sustain.  <\/p>\n

I would encourage anyone that is inclined to have a go at making a bass, there is plenty of information on the web to help you, and there is great pleasure in playing an instrument that you have made.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
