This week’s Bass of the Week comes from the The Pine Tree State, better known as the State of Maine, USA. And this bass has a very interesting “canyon wall” style neck heel treatment.<\/p>\n

Builder James Cook writes:<\/p>\n

All non wood components of this instrument are from Best Bass Gear. <\/p>\n

The body is master grade flame Maple over Walnut with a Red Cedar core and Padauk tone block. <\/p>\n

The neck is a tapered core Cedar with Walnut and flame Maple laminations. <\/p>\n

Ziricote fretboard sound amazing! <\/p>\n

All Hipshot hardware, Bartolini dual coils and an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp. <\/p>\n

The bass was hand made in my Freeport, Maine workshop about 3 miles from LLBean HQ. <\/p>\n

The asymmetrical body is designed for comfortable play on a 35″ scale platform. <\/p>\n

The heel is designed for playing in the higher registers in several different positions. We harvest our own woods whenever possible. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
