{"id":6425,"date":"2014-10-15T11:52:28","date_gmt":"2014-10-15T16:52:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bestbassgear.com\/ebass\/?p=6425"},"modified":"2014-10-15T11:53:14","modified_gmt":"2014-10-15T16:53:14","slug":"bass-of-the-week-anton-kurochkin-thunderdoge-1410","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bestbassgear.com\/ebass\/bass-of-the-week\/bass-of-the-week-anton-kurochkin-thunderdoge-1410.html","title":{"rendered":"[Bass of the Week] Anton Kurochkin Thunderdoge 1410"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week&#8217;s BotW takes a classic design and reimagines it into something much more exotic and with more features.<\/p>\n<p>Kirill writes: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I had a Japanese short scale copy of EB-3 for a long time and always wanted to add a bit of flavour to the classics, so after a few hours of brainstorming the idea with the luthier we came up with the idea of making a neck-thru version of Gibson SG bass. <\/p>\n<p>The neck is 5 piece made of wenge and bubinga, fretboard is also wenge. <\/p>\n<p>The body is made of two massive ash wings and covered with a beautiful quartersawn top. <\/p>\n<p>The circuit is all passive with two different mudbucker-like pickups, the neck one is more closer to classic with Alnico 5 magnets and the bridge one is a personal take on the mudbucker design with even more winding and ceramic magnet for more bridge-punch.
