This week’s feature bass was built to have a contemporary sound for use in a house of worship.<\/p>\n

I finally got around to building a bass for myself. I wanted a warm contemporary sound , as I play at church all the time. I started with a zebra wood top with alder body wings. The neck is cherry\/ maple\/ walnut. I used a pau ferro fret board and made the truss rod myself. I choose Bartolini dual coils<\/a> with a 5.2 A\/P Bartolini preamp<\/a>. All hardware is Hipshot. I have found that the 5.2 preamp gives me a ton of options to control the tone. During the build, I loved the wood work of shaping the neck and wings. I am a furniture builder so I had a full shop of machinery at my disposal. I will definitely start another and Best Bass Gear is the best place to get the hardware. Very helpful when I had to make changes and have questions answered. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
