The Gecko is designed for a 35″ scale neck but I wanted 34″ scale for the fretless. I contacted Moses and they asked to have Warmoth not route for the pickups so they could set the proper placement. The body is Koa with a quilted maple top. Steve Patience (guitar paint/finishing) of Livermore was affiliated with a shop called Fine Fretted Friends. I looked him up recently and unfortunately discovered he had passed. He did a beautiful job for a great price. Moses was very accommodating with my ideas for this bass. We started out talking about just making it a fretless then I called them up about making it also a headless. They said no problem at all. I get tons of questions and compliments about this bass everywhere I play. It has become my main bass on LoNero’s two tours in support of Tony MacAlpine.

Want YOUR bass to be featured for Bass of the Week?
Submit yours now using our easy web form

The feature bass for this week is a workhorse Warmoth build.
