Michel Simard from Atelier Sig Mar<\/a> writes:<\/p>\n

This is the first official “Sig Mar” bass. I’m a new luthier starting a business. I come from a background of music studies and later, woodworking studies. And then I mixed both of my passions to build instruments. I’m a bass player so obviously, I wanted to build basses! This bass is a special order for my girlfriend’s cousin, who is an active musician in Montreal, Canada. He wanted a 5 strings bass but could not find one he liked enough so he ordered me a custom one. At that time i already had some shapes i wanted to create and fortunately, he chose one of them. The Juglans,  which means Walnut tree in latin. All my models have Latin tree names. On that bass, the body is made of ash whit a birch top. The neck is made of maple and white oak. And the fretboard is made of ebony, white oak and padauk. The electronic is an active PJ5 EMJ pickups and Hipshot hardware. And it sounds great!!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
