Hipshot Direct Reolacement for Marcus Miller Sire V7
By Bruce

Best Bass Gear gave me an excellent service. This review is for just for the Hipshot bridge.
Firstly the 20mm spacing option makes it a really good fit for the Marcus. You need to drill new mounting holes but the old ones get covered up so it looks neat.
I have to say I was disappointed with the quality of manufacture. There were clearly visible machining marks and some defects in the finish. I also found some of the grub screws in the saddles to be very tight which was unnerving. The biggest issue for me is that the the springs and screws used to adjust the intonation restrict the full travel of the saddle. The screws are too short to allow the saddle to move all the way to the front of the bridge. This was a problem for me because the change of bridge geometry requires the G string to come forward. Also, the springs are too big and lock under compression before the saddle is all the way back.
Anyways it fits and is much better than the original.
I would definitely use Best Bass Gear again but not Hipshot
