This one sent to featureme@bestbassgear.com is described as “a monster”. I’d have to agree!
Anthony Writes,
Here’s a few pics of Anthony McDonald custom bass guitar. Mahogany body, bubinga and zebra neck and fingerboard gotoh tuners, emg pickups, 18volts. This bass is a monster.

The huge cutout at the top of the body must make it easy to carry around! 🙂

Wow what’s the scale length?
It’s a 34″ scale
Very cool….looks like purple heart/zebra neck-thru… did they dye the bubinga ?
Mahogany stain on bubinga
Wow, the neck looks like a 2X4.
The neck not being centered in the center lamanets looks very amature. The construction looks solid but the execution could have been better
This is my first build from scratch,
There will be more
How can you call someone else’s vision amature. Since when does every design have to fit in a symetrical box. That looks to be a deliberate choice and not a mistake. Lets see some pics of the bass YOU built! I for one like to see new luthiers expand the possibilities of bass design. Where is the company contact information?
It looks even more off-center from behind. Kudos for the wood choices and work involved, but not my cup of tea.
The top wing with the strap button looks prone to snapping off
I’m a big fan of natural grains being seen on beautiful wood
Also big fan of emg x series
Not keen on the cutout or the headstock
Everyone starts somewhere
Good work
