This week’s feature bass was built in The Sunshine State!
Owner George Halcomb writes:
This is a CB Bass from Cliff Bordwell at cbbasses.com in Florida. This is an absolute work of art you can play with. At lot of magic in this one. Have been playing over 40 years and this is the finest machine for me I have put my hands on. His stuff looks, plays and sounds super great. Dealing with Cliff was fun and he is sane.
Wood:
Rambutan top and peg head, Ash body core, Maple and Wenge neck, Birdseye Maple fingerboard, Purpleheart back and cavity cover.
Electronics:
Nordstrand BigSplit in neck, BigMan in bridge with single switch and Audere preamp withVV / TB
Hardware:
Hipshot bridge, tuners, and knobs in Shiny Nickel Numbers
34in scale, 14in fingerboadr radius, 19mm string spacing, and an Asymmetrical neck carve.

Well done!

George, congratulations on the new bass! It’s absolutely stunning and the pickup config is utterly intriguing. I would love to hear what it sounds like! A video demo/overview would be great to see.
Astounding! (All Bordwell basses are)
That bass is truly stunning!
just beautiful.
This lollipop on the upper horn and tuner complements each other so great! Great look, +1 for video with sound good record. =)
Beautiful! What’s the weight?
beautiful bass..
Thanks, It looks better than I can get it to photograph. Will look into putting up sound samples but have never done that. The weight is a legal 9lbs 7oz Heavy for a Bordwell but I did order some heavy options.
I own a “Big McNeely” bass from Cliff, it’s a work of art to say the least. I’m currently plotting out my next bass from him now. Have fun playing! It looks great!
