Dingwall Combustion NG-2 Bass

Below is a video demo and review of the mighty Dingwall Combustion NG-2 bass guitar.

In this particular Dingwall is a nice marriage of FD-3N pickups and Darkglass 3-band EQ electronics.

What do you think? Great bass or a little too much for some players? Post a comment or two on what you think of it.

  1. Love the tone! I’ve never tried an fanned fret bass, but would be interested to see how it would work for me. I really like the 4-way switch and the pickup variations.

  2. I like the bass altogether, and the review is done well to spirit trying out the fanned frets that I wasn’t taking seriously before,,,
Nonetheless, do you notice that the effective range of this bass lies somewhere between the 7th and the 12th fret of the first two strings, and the lower strings do not sound as assertive at all? In spite of the 37″ scale that implied more.

  3. I’ve got a Dingwall Combustion. I really love it. If you set it up to have a big assertive low end, it really will. My Combustion will play huge fat Reggae, driving Rock, or creamy jazz. I really couldn’t recommend it enough.
