In part 2 with our neck pocket template fabrication, we’re now performing a rough cut and removing the surrounding material with a bandsaw. The photos below shows how it’s done:
Next up, the bottom hardboard piece has its excess middle portion removed flush to the edges of where the glued pieces on top meet:
Above is the finished cut shown, however, this is not the final template, as the heel end will still need to be matched up to the actual heel of the neck for proper shape and fit.

Thanks for this great help! I will be fitting three short scale Tele style necks to Tele bodies, and I don’t have a band saw…I believe I’ll need a bearing bit for my router, so any advise on bit selection will be most welcome…
