So you’ve upgraded your bass with some awesome Bartolini or Delano or Nordstrand or any other number of our great pickups, and now it’s time to upgrade your skills.
One way to give your skills an upgrade is by learning what is known as the ghost note. This is a note that is nothing more than a percussive thud. While that may not sound very impressive, in use it can add in a lot of character to your playing style. In addition, anyone can do it whether you play with fingers or pick.
The instructional video below is 37 minutes long, but don’t let that get you down, because it covers all the good stuff about ghost notes where you can start using them quickly and easily.
Also bear in mind that while the video is titled How To Play Funky Ghost Note Basslines, the ghost note can be applied to many music styles; this is definitely something worth learning.

Great lesson!
