Bass of the Week: Ray-Lin Chang

This week’s BotW comes from Ray-Lin Chang.

This bass is influenced by MTD, KS and Fodera basses. It’s the first bass I build and I just love it!

It’s a Mahogany body & neck, Walnut top, Set neck construction with Walnut shim, Ebony board, Abalone dots, Delano SBC, Hipshot A and John East U-Retro 01 Deluxe from BBG, Hipshot ultra-lite tuning keys, Dunlop straplok, with oil finish.

Stop over at our Facebook page and post pictures of your bass on our wall. And if you’re building your own bass – or just looking to update your bass – check out some of the equipment Ray-Lin used that are available at Best Bass Gear.

  1. The bass looks sweet. How is the tone and what did you put in it? Are you building others and if so whats the price. I love basses and I have 6 so far

    • Hi Jerome, I’ll try to do some demonstration ASAP, I put John east U-Retro 01 Deluxe in it.
Yeah, I’ll continue to build another bass but not recently, and about the price we will figure it out once you order. Thanks!!
