Ever hear a slide bass guitar sound this good?

Or maybe the more appropriate question is, have you ever heard a slide bass guitar at all?

Thumb picks and slides. Two things not ordinarily associated with the electric bass guitar…

…but this is some seriously good stuff.

According to the video description:

Here is just a sample of my Slide Bass Guitar. This instrument has 4 strings just like an ordinary bass guitar. However, as you see it is played completely different. It also has 4 floor pedals that you will notice is changing the notes by half and whole steps. Crazy cool ax!

“Crazy cool,” indeed!

As the description states, it is played totally different than what bass players are used to. But oh, what a sound.

Check it out for yourself below, and let us know what you think of it.

  1. I really, REALLY wanted to dismiss this as a “gimmick”. Just can’t though. That is some freaking AWESOME bass playing!!

  2. Thanks folks for the kind compliments of my video. It’s so fun to play! As you can likely tell I’m a steel guitar player so this is a brave new world to me. Oh and whoever said that about Jaco. Thanks! I remember being introduced to Jaco’s music while attending Berklee. So that influence is likely coming through on this instrument a bit. Just a thought any way.
