New Reverse Jaguar Bass from Fender

Fender’s “Pawn Shop” Series is built off the model of being “guitars that never were, but should have been.” Drawing inspiration from the mid ’60s to mid ’70s Fenders, the series brings to life vintage guitars with all the adventure and eccentricities of the era.

And now we have a look at the first bass to the series, the Reverse Jaguar Bass.

By flipping the Jaguar design and using a reverse boy and headstock, it features a upperhorn on the bottom, giving the Reverse Jaguar a real distinctive look.

It joins the new Offset Special and Mustang Special guitars as Fender’s 2012 additions to the series.

Like the other “Pawn Shop” guitars, it has two monstrous humbucking pickups, and a “C” shaped maple neck with 9.5″ radius fretboard.

  1. THE NEW FENDER BASS IS MADE STRICTLY FOR LOOKS, PERIOD!
WITH THAT BODY SHAPE AND NECK ATTACHMENT, YOU BETTER HAVE LONG FINGERS TO REACH THE LOWER FRETS.FENDER MUST BE RUNNING OUT OF GOOD IDEAS! OH LEO,WHERE ARE YOU NOW?

  2. it’s clearly a tribute to the “Fenderbird” hybrid basses that John Entwistle use to play in the 60’s and 70’s, AKA gibson Thundebird with a Precision neck. looks cool and probably plays great too

  3. Hi, Thanks for your comment. After exptnimereing with all kinds of shims for the 1st and 6th saddles I to stock a bunch of the 2nd and 5th string saddles for the Mustang bridge and sand them down to use for the 1st and 6th strings to correct the over radius of the bridge. Then put them on the Jazzmaster. Gary

  4. Hi Aniana Marie no, you should never store your gtaiur in an air conditioned room because the AC removes all the moisture from the air, which greatly affects your gtaiur and can cause the wood to dry out and warp in unexpected ways.

  5. I recently got one of these and I f*cking love it. The sound is amazing, and the pickup switch lets you go from fat thumpy sound to clear cripsy vintage in a split second. Playing past the 12th fret can be a little tricky, but unless you play super-high solos all the time it wont be an issue. Unless you have fat little sausage fingers.. Anyway, I love this thing, and for the price its DEFINITELY worth a try. It’s my go-to bass for any 70’s rock/country covers. The people putting this thing down have probably never played one.

    Peace
