Rudy Sarzo Signature Peavey Cirrus Bass

Rudy Sarzo talks about his latest signature model bass from Peavey. For those not in the know, this is actually his third signature model from the Peavey brand, which started all the way back in 1988.

Rudy has also always made a point of trying to offer the most bass possible for a lower price (which by the way is well south of $1,000).

Check out what has has to say about it, and be sure to comment.

  1. The Peavey Cirrus is hands down the best bass I own. I own a few of them, as a matter of fact. All USA models.

  2. I don’t think there is any doubt that Peavey makes some amazing stuff. I do wonder about things like the “power plate” though. Sounds like a tacky gimic. Right?

  3. Yeah… I don’t doubt that stiffening/reinforcing the headstock could change and even benefit the instrument’s resonance, but that seems really over-hyped.

    • The headstock is the most common reason for dead spots on the neck. This is the reason Fatfinger helps alleviate the problem by changing the resonant frequency of the headstock. Stiffening and reinforcing the headstock is a proactive feature that will minimize the problem.

  4. I have this new Rudy Sarzo signature bass. The best sounding bass I own! The power plate does help with increasing sustain. Extremely straight neck. Low action. Beautiful. Easy to play. Sure if the best pickups Peavey has ever made. The best rock bass on the market.

  5. I’ve met Rudy twice, and got him to autograph one of my basses. My new (to me) Sarzo Cirrus will arrive tomorrow, and I can’t wait!

  6. The only real bass I own at the moment is a 1984 Rudy Sarzo Washburn Slammer! I’ve been playing it every day for the past 5 years, ha ha! I’m sure Rudy’s Peavey Cirrus is much more comfortable. …you know, it’s just obvious that Rudy is a good guy. I enjoy these videos.

  7. I currently own 2 Peavey Cirrus basses. One I purchased brand new & ordered it when Peavey had their custom shop back in 2007 & the other is the transparent red Cirrus Rudy Sarzo Signature bass I purchased used just recent to this writing. Both basses are amazing & I’ll never part with either of ’em. Total top shelf quality. I wish Peavey would rerun the transparent black, red & violet ones again. Beautiful basses as I also wanted the trans black one.
