This week’s BotW that arrived in the featureme@bestbassgear.com inbox comes from Russia – I think. I say that because the author, Danny, did not state his location, although his email signature was in Russian. So we’ll take it on best guess that yes, what you’re seeing does come from Russia. 🙂
Want to show you my first bass. It’s a 5-string short scale 33′ 26-fretted soloing piece. I’m an engineer and my hobby is woodworking. No matter what I do, I’m just satisfied in woodworking. And I’m a bassist too, playing in hip-hop band. One day I got an idea “What if I would try to make a fully customized bass just for me?”, and spent the next 3 months of my free time in my garage trying to make first instrument. And you know, it sounds perfect, it was a surprise for me, like “Who are you? You can’t make a bass. You’re just a simple man, you know.” So it was my first bass, and I keep playing on that all the time, but keep making basses for people.
It’s about a 33′ bass. I wanted to build a Gwizdala-like bass. And I’ve made it.

modern appealing look, well done. unique design!
Unique design? mm….
looks like a re badged fodera to me
Fodera Matt Garrison signature clone. I love the bass, but get original a little at least next time!
Very well done! I wish my first bass had been that good. A clone is always a good place to start as you have something to measure it against. Building a perfect Fodera clone, now that is a CHALLENGE!
Lets see you sissy bitches do it better!!!
Nice work!!
Love it!
DAAAAAMN thats sexay!
Why is there pics of two different basses? Have a look at the pickups and also spacing from the neck. The first shot has pickups with pole-pieces, the second front shot has covered pickups.
Good catch – they do look different. We’re investigating why (all the images were within the same email) -BBG
Adorable bass..really love it!!!!
Nice bass, well built and finished. Too bad all that talent and skills goes into building a clone.
This jewel is SOOO SWEET!!! Superior Bass in my book!!!
Different switches too – chrome/black.

Different Pickups, different pup spacing, different switches and different wood finishes too. There’s more to this this than meets the ‘buckeye’
Nick in Suffolk UK
Like who doesn’t recognize Fodera work!
It looks like the first picture is that of the bass he copied.
Danny built 2 basses the first one he uses the second he sold.
Both basses are ones he built!
