Barton Applewhite from www.roberto-venn.com/faculty/bart-applewhite (Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery) writes:

I really wanted to try something different with this one and while designing the frame I wanted to use a stable core laminate. For some unknown reason I decided why not try acrylic which resulted in an opportunity for some addition lighting. I used acrylic, mahogany, ziricote, maple, padauk and ebony in the construction of this bass. It has two Bartolini soapbars and fiber optic side dot markers.
