This bass was commissioned as a present as a 40th birthday present. [Check out pics below]
Darren writes:
“This is the first of our Kratos basses. The Kratos is our take on a traditional jazz style, this particular bass is a short scale (30.5”), 19 fret version of the normal 34” scale 24 fret standard version of this model.
This bass has a stunning quilted maple top on a ribbon sapele body, flamed shedua neck and finger board separated with a maple veneer.
The bridge is our own manufacture paired with our own manufactured string ferrule block and the tuners are hipshot ultralite’s. The customer selected Aguilar 70’s jazz pickups for their growl which was coupled with an Aguilar OPB1 preamp, controls are blend, master volume, treble boost and bass boost. The 12th fret inlay and rear body inlay are taken from the customers memorial tattoo for his brother and are made of ebony and quilted maple set into purple hart with a bronze disc at the centre”

Well done!

Very nice. The bridge is out of focus in these pics, I would like to see it,since it’s custom made. I love the starfish inlays.
Excellent craftsmanship! Real eye candy! Just not a big fan of short scale basses.
Absolutely gorgeous! I’d love to hear it. The details are amazing. Love the J-bass active architecture. Would prefer long-scale as well.
We have two normal scale in stock now
An inlay on the back of the bass – that’s just showin’ off. 😉 Very nice!
Frustrating picture series. Can’t see the bridge, controls or pickup placement. All out of focus.
I take back my previous comment.
Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship.
A job well done! Congrats!!
Very nice bass, classy!!
Wow — stunningly beautiful! Well done!
Beautiful bass! Very nice attention to detail. If it sounds half as good as it looks, you have a real winner.
