[Bass of the Week] Guldur Bass

See the business listing for this bass builder here

The builder who made this bass has unfortunately passed on, however his legacy remains with this fantastic build, the Guldur bass.

João writes:

I’m a bass player from Brazil, and I play in two heavy metal bands, Darkager and Necrofobia.

The man who made this bass guitar (the ‘Guldur’) is called Raphael Guzzardi, and he was a brazilian luthier and played guitar with me on Necrofobia.

Tragically, he passed away on May 6th after complications in his lungs. We lost a really talented guitarist, and a brilliant luthier.

So, I believe that it’s fair to let his legacy go on, and I can do a little part for it by spreading his work to the most people I can.

And, of corse, some components (including the pickups) were bought at Best Bass Gear.

Thanks for the attention, and I hope you enjoy the pictures! 🙂

  3. Very cool. Beautiful woods and an interesting shape, not too “metal” looking although very angular.
    Well done.

    • hi,
the body is a one piece brazilian mahogany with an “imbuia” top.
the neck has three brazilian mahogany pieces and two “purple heart” stringers. the top at headstock is also “imbuia”.
