[Bass of the Week] Imbody Retrolite

The feature bass for this week is a combination of old style and modern electronics.

Owner Marc writes:

I wanted a retro looking bass with a jazz bass neck feel. The body is one piece swamp ash with a one piece quarter sawn maple neck comprised of a dual action truss rod and carbon fiber reinforced. Head stock is pitched at 17 degrees with Imbody pearl inlay on ebony. Hipshot hardware was used for the tuners and bridge. The pickups are Curtis Novack Darkstars with Vol/Tone, three way capacitor switch and are passive. Electronics cavity is fully shielded with 3M aluminum tape. Electronics are connected with bullet connectors so a different colored pick guard can be interchanged in minutes. I currently have white and gold that I swap out every now and then. Nicely balanced with no neck dive! Gene Imbody does great work and added some nice touches with the checker board binding and retro knobs.
