Bass of the Week: It’s Not Easy Being Green

See Matt’s business listing here

This week’s BotW is a green machine from Matt, which he calls the “Mutant Bass”.

His story on this bass is:

I’ve had this idea for a bass for a while and I finally brought that idea to life. Here’s a bit of the story behind this bass that took me about 7 months to build and modify. I haven’t done the numbers, but I want to say that I spent approximately $250-$300 over the course of 5 months, some stuff needed I already had, and that cost includes parts, paint, and some tools (router, polisher, etc…) that I needed.

Green is, admittedly, a tough color to pull off. But Matt made it work. Instead of a plain-jane Squier P Bass, now it’s a green-bodied player converted to fretless, refin neck, an added pickup to the bridge – and an added octave string.

The entire Facebook photo album set on this build is here, but here are a few highlights:

Matt’s Mutant conversion was definitely an improvement. Well done, Matt!
