Fresh from the NAMM show, MXR showed off the Sub Octave Bass Fuzz pedal.
This fuzz pedal features two circuits, meaning it’s not the typical “one trick pony” type of fuzz. It also features separate bass and treble EQ controls, an octave control (of course), dry volume control (totally necessary for bass), has mid-frequency boost, and more.
In other words, this is one seriously good fuzz box for the bass.

Something I have always wondered about sub-octave bass effects — how does that impact the speakers necessary to render the effect? Don’t they have to be rated to handle the low sound? Can typical 10″ speakers that are widely used today do it?
