What does the Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig sound like direct?

The Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig is a multi-effect unit with, obviously, a whole bunch of in-built effects. But as you can see from a photo of it, one of the features is “sans amp”, and yes this does mean it can be used direct into a mixer.

But as anyone who has used a direct-into-mixer signal knows, certain units color the sound differently. Not all DIs are the same and not all multi-effect units are the same either.

The video below will give you an idea of what the Bass Fly Rig sounds like when used direct. This is a good demo that concentrates on what the unit sounds like rather than showing off flashy playing.
