An interview with Sheldon Dingwall of Dingwall Guitars – Part 1

See Sheldon Dingwall’s business listing here

Just about any fan of bass guitars has heard of Dingwall, a company that builds high-end bass instruments out of Saskatoon in Saskatchewan, Canada.

This is an interview series with Sheldon Dingwall himself, and in this first part, Sheldon talks about what originally inspired him to start building bass guitars.

In particular, Sheldon states how important fanned frets were (and still are,) and how that contributed to the first 100% built-from-scratch Dingwall bass guitar. And did you know that the first Dingwall was almost headless?

Sheldon also talks about how who really kept Dingwall alive during the tough years. The answer will surprise you.
