The feature bass this week is a fretless beauty.
Owner Rob Paschall writes:
Wenge neck and body with ebony fretless board.
17mm string spacing, 1.75 nut width
Nordstrand MM5.4, each with 3 way switch for series, “single”, parallel.
Active/passive push pull on master volume
Blend
3 band Delano preampI wanted a versatile tone machine, this is it. James Carrigan was great to work with. This is my number one bass.

Well done!

This Bass must have a ton of Growl;which is something I really like. The Design is Beautiful, contemporary and very original,a combination that is hard to Design. I would love to hear this !
Beautiful! Is it heavy? What is the control cavity cover made of?
It’s about 10 lbs. The control cavity cover is made of cherry that has been torch darkened to more match the body.
Wow! What a beautiful instrument! What finish is that?
The finish is teak oil and wax.
Amazing idea to use that medallion and give it the balanced look of a 3×3 headstock!
A nice looking bass (that over used word ) almost “organic!” Interesting to see it all in dark timber. Wenge is a pretty dense timber, heavier than rock maple – it would be interesting to know how much it weighs? I’m sure it sounds good and is a dream to play. Does it have position markers?
On the side of the neck there are brass marker dots to indicate where each fret would be.
Big hunk of wood. I have never had much luck with BLACK. We must talk. You did well.
Impressive build bro! Love the way you finished the cutaway on the backside as well.
