Bass of the Week: Tom Daugherty’s Acoustic Bass

This week’s BotW comes from Tom Daugherty. His Tinozza-inspired acoustic bass is a piece of work.

This bass was a year and a half project. The first acoustic guitar for for me. All the others I have built are electrics.

I got the idea from the Tinozza. The body is smaller and the bridge is different. It does have the Tinozza bracing (“A” brace) also used on the Tacoma Thunderchief bass. Top is Engelman spruce and back & sides are Grafted walnut. Fret board and bridge are Granadillo. Pick up is a K&K Pure Sound installed under the bridge. The neck is a nine piece Jatoba, Maple, and Walnut laminant.

  1. This is illegal, you’re ofirefng a lottery based game of chance to one lucky person. You can be sued in court because their is no skill required, and you offer your services for a fee to be entered. This does not qualify as a contest or as a sweepstakes. You might want to rethink this.

  2. Very strange comment from Kayra. I have won BotW previously with no parts or purchases from BBG. I do buy from them, but it has nothing to do with any contest. Chill; its all in fun.
